About the event

The first in our series of Tuesday lunchtime sessions exploring the bigger picture of Singing for Health. Initial thoughts from our guest speakers, then it's over to you to open up the discussion.

What knowledges, skills and values are needed to lead singing in health?

Is it musical expertise, therapeutic training, or something harder to define? This conversation explores what makes someone effective at leading singing in health settings—and why it might be difficult to articulate.

If you facilitate singing for health, research it, or train others to do it, your knowledge is needed here.

Chaired by Prof Lee Higgins, Director of the International Centre of Community Music at York St John University
